6 weeks of Nosework

6 weeks, Tuesday evenings at 5 - 6 pm January 9th thru February 13th, 2024
Maximum 8 dogs per class -  If waiting list gets long enough another session will be added.

$20 / class for members ($120)    $21 / class for nonmembers ($126) payable at registration

Eligibililty:

Teams that are actively competing or preparing to compete in NACSW or AKC Scentwork venues.

Dogs should be hunting for all 3 NACSW odors (birch, anise, clove).

This class will build skills needed to successfully compete at all levels. We will be working mostly with the Container and Interior elements. We will cover both NACSW and AKC style searches and discuss the differences in hide placements and rules specific to each organization. The curriculum will be tailored to the needs of the participating teams.

About the Instructor:

Kathryn Dobyns started competing in NACSW nosework in 2014 and achieved the NACSW Elite 2 and multiple AKC Scentwork titles with her mixed breed dog Hunter. She has attended many classes and workshops with instructors from across the country as she seeks to learn more about training and teaching Nosework. She has been teaching Nosework classes in Staunton, Waynesboro and Harrisonburg for several years, and she has helped her students achieve advanced titles in both NACSW and AKC venues. She is just starting the competition journey again with her 2 year old SportMix Wafel.
